R.K. Narayan was an Indian writer. He is known for his Malgudi series. He is one of the most important figures of early Indian English literature and is hailed as the one who brought this type of literature to the rest of the world. Narayan was a recipient of many awards and honors like the A.C. Benson Medal from The Royal Society of Literature and the prestigious Padma Vibhushan.
