About the Author

Dr. Debasish Kar, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Tech. (Biotechnology), Ph.D. (Biotechnology), is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology in Ramaiah University of Applied Science, Bengaluru. He has presented his research findings in one of his talks at an international conference, FEMS in the Netherlands. His primary research area includes molecular characterization of beta-lactamases that cause bacterial resistance against a broad-spectrum antibiotic. He has published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kar has penned several books on CSIR-NET Life Science and DBT JRF Biotechnology. In addition, he has also contributed a series of books on GATE Life Sciences and GATE Biotechnology. He is popularly known for his competitive exam books on GATE/NET/PhD entrances. He is the Life Member of the Asian Federation of Biotechnology, The Indian Science Congress Association, and Society of Biological Chemist (India). Recently, he has been included in the reviewer board members of Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (Royal Society of Chemistry, London).
